390 headers in a car, need suggestions
Guys, I've got a 1979 390FE to drop into my 1958 Edsel Pacer. The Pacer is based on the Fairlane chassis and already had a 361FE (bored-out Edsel-version of 352FE) in it, so I'm hoping it basically bolts up.
Am I correct in assuming that the best first couple of mods I could do would be an aluminum intake and some headers?
Are there any full-length headers out there that anybody knows will fit in a 1958ish Ford? I see Hedman lists some for 1962-on Fairlanes.
Is anybody else working on an Edsel project?More projects than money. All it takes to get something done is time, money, and ambition, all together at once.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I've got a set of Hedmans on the 360 in my '73 F100 and they fit very tight and close to the block. I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow and post them and maybe it will help you out.Ken Thomas

techinspector: Those are sweet-looking! It would certainly be easier to fit up shorties. Hmmm...
Now if I could find a set of these used...More projects than money. All it takes to get something done is time, money, and ambition, all together at once.

The fit on those Hedmans looks pretty good, too. I'm not in a big hurry over this, so I guess it'll come down to what I find a good deal on first.More projects than money. All it takes to get something done is time, money, and ambition, all together at once.

I in the final stages of completing a 1958 Ranger 2-door post. The 428 slipped in just fine - bolted up to the teletouch. Disc Brakes were a bolt on.
I'm interested in how you do the headers. The stock configuration is pretty tight by the steering box. I'm looking for a good solution for the headers.
Good luck
