390 galaxie
i have a 66 390 galaxie with a c6... the engine and transmission have just been rebuilt, and i have already done some engine mods like a cam, intake, and carb.... right now im planning on putting an electronic ignition in, and also some headers... which brings me to my question... does anyone have any idea where i can find some headers for this car.... ive looked all over the place and no one has any.... so i would really apreciate it if someone had any suggestions to where i could find some headers... or any other suggestions to make the car perform a little bit better for an affordable price considering im only 17 and i dont have a hug budget....
thanks alot and any responses would be apreciated

I have a 67 Galaxie XL convertible with a 390 as well. I haven't started bolting on upgrades yet, but I've been looking. Here's a site that was suggested elsewhere on this site:

Stan at ford powertrain makes the best headers for galaxies. I just got some for my 63 352 convert. and they fit like a charm and look great preety cheap for what you get in return im sure he makes em for your car

If you want Hooker headers, Summit Racing has them listed. I've used them, and been around cars with them, for years and they're pretty good, too. Expensive, though. About $430 when I looked them up a minute ago. Equal length, 18 ga tubing. They should have a good, noticeable header tick/spit at idle. The exhaust slaps the tubing where it turns, and makes a distinctive noise. The heavier-gauge tubes aren't as prominent a sound, but Hooker does make noise.Tim -
