Roller lifters for FE
Hi,
I'm trying to get the 410/fake 428 put together for my F100, and am down to needing a cam. For the "good car," I used a new service short block, so no question - plain old hyd lifters.
The carmakers have been using roller cams in production vehicles for some time, and I'm considering a Crower or Crane roller setup. But back in the day, roller setups were considered short lifespan items, and I want to use the truck for runs from NorCal to Sturgis and such.
Anyone used a roller cam in an FE lately? What kind of results? I'm trying to drag my sorry butt into the 21st century, but am still a bit of an old dog - thought about a gear drive instead of timing chain, but have pretty well decided against that.
Thanks in advance,Tim -
