double throw down super kewl FE parts !!!
For the other FE fans on here. I just got to see a set of Dove 427 Tunnel Port Heads, man are they built!!! Same guy also had the tunnel ram tunnel port intake for the heads with Dominator base on the top of the very tall tunnell ram!!! Brand new peices with a spendy price, $2400 for the bare heads, $1350 for the intake!!! $3,750 plus the valves and rockers, but big time exotic race pieces!!! FFR, you still taking up that collection for me??? Think I'm going to need it. Got to play with some numbers on the desk top dyno to see where a monster like that would end up on horsepressure and torque.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dang, G. A friend of mine works for Jim Dove. I suppose he could maybe shave a bit off the price for me, I didn't ask. Kind of like if you have to ask, you can't afford it??? Any guesses just how wild that would be on an FE Stroker motor??? Man, I really want to run the Ranchero at B-Ville someday. I realize the tunnel ram would probably not be the best way to go, but then again, why not??? Heck, it's just money, we only go around once, right????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I tell ya what...that's one good friend to have. Pretty cool. That would be a wild setup for the Ranchero. A nice big cube stroker FE with a tunnel ram!!!!! A sweet way to go. And it's money well spent for sure. Never lose value on those parts. Dove makes some really nice stuff. Make the most of it...your right we only go around once. Best to go fast along the way! LOL, G.

tunnel port
When I was an engineer at ford, there were 3 guys working at our site that bought Cobra's and they got the emplovee discount price. One guy worked a deal with holman and moody and traded his high riser and cash for a 427 TP with 2 fours. 780 HP at 6000 in 67. The tunnel port wouldn't come out of the corners at Riverside as well as the high riser, H & M did better times with the HR on the road race coarse. A tunnel port with tunned headers would sound fantastic at bonneville. A couple oy years ago some guys had a nascar ford there> Build your TP motor and tell us when you will be at B'villetimothale

Gotta do it. Going to sell a bunch of my other stuff and concentrate on the Coupe and the Ranchero. When I tip over, if ya show up for the funeral, make sure somebody plays whatever song it is (flippin' memory is toast) with the lyrics, "What a long strange trip it's been" !!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Cobra price
Bruce paid a little over 6 g for the first 427 sold to a retail customer The first ones went to factory approver racers. I did a lot of work on it, built him a 4 wheel trailer. rear sway bar. redid the gas tank. the originals were only soldered and after the vibrations from serious racing would start to leak. I built the headers and outside pipes in one nite at the thrush muffler factory in detroit. It set the roadrace course lap record at michigan int'l speedway. He got prints for a new design suspension that was never put into production. new lengths and angles for a arms and spindles. that helped at MIS when he set the record.timothale

Tim, wow what great memorys! That's fantastic you were there and worked on them in the day! Must have been a great time. Imagine 6k for a 427 cobra. That was a very good price back then. How much was retail on them like 10k? Anyway thanks and please tell us some more of your adventures!
