Pistons
I want to run between 10:1-10.5:1 Compression Pistions in my 390. Any body know of any, Please let me know. Thanx,

I am running a 360 block, but changing crank and rods to 390 parts for the extra go. And heres my head specs;
This set of "FE" cast iron heads that have been professionally rebuilt with stainless 2.090" Intake and 1.650" exhaust valves with swirl polished and undercut stems to increase flow
These 69cc heads are complete and include:
These heads have been vatted, magnafluxed checked for cracks, glassbeaded/steelabrated, tap bolt holes, new guides installed, both intake and head surface have been machined to ensure a good sealing surface
Install hardened exhaust seats for use with leaded or unleaded fuel
Blend bowls for 2.090"Int/1.650"Exh stainless swirl polished "Cobra Jet" size valves
Cut seats for 2.090" and 1.650" valves
Drill and install all new guides
3-angle valve job
Set up 1.440" high performance springs to handle up to .600" valve lift
These heads have the small intake ports
New Parts:
"Cobra Jet size" 2.090"Int/1.650"Exh stainless swirl polished valves with undercut stems to increase flow
New valve guides machined to clear high lift cam

Bore it 0.030" and use Keith Black hypereutectic pistons part # KB150-030. If it's already cut 0.030, use 0.040 or 0.060. (9.35:1 compression ratio with 0.030 pistons, 9.46:1 with 0.060 pistons)
Cut the block for zero deck, use Fel-Pro 1020 head gaskets, 0.041" compressed.

Barry Grant 750 Mighty Demon (annular discharge) Jeg's part # 132-5423020GC. Anyone who hasn't read the Car Craft August 2005 article on annular discharge carbs needs to read up.
Crane hydraulic cam H-272-2. This cam will give the exhaust some help and God knows the Ford needs exhaust help!!

1 3/4" headers, 2 1/2" exhaust pipes
If automatic, use a slightly looser converter (2,000-2,200)

I was actually thinking about that and, yes that is a bit much for a normal stree engine like that. I see the crane listings but I am already gonna run comp cam parts. I have a 268H HighEnergy Cam, HighEnergy Lifters. I havent bought push rods yet, was gonna go with the Comp Cams HighEnergy parts to match. As for rockers, I was thinking about getting an adjustable set but havent really looked into it at the moment.

If your cam will be over .550 lift it's a very good idea to use adjustable rockers. Good stands or shafts a plus here also. Even better both if you have the room in the budget. Sorry to leave you hanging there but these guys have it sorted. I'm just back from a 4 day trip to Georgia looking at houses. BTW the heads sound nice! As Denny mentioned some port work will see better results. G.
