    390 Electric Choke

I have a 64 galaxie with a T-Bird 390 4bbl. I replaced the original Motorcraft carburetor with a Holley. Although I'm wishing I went for the Edelbrock! Oh well. Everything hooks up ok. I had to rig the throttle cable a little to get it to connect. I got an electric choke to replace the manual.

I see many forums saying to connect the choke's hot wire to the alternators STA post or Stator "S" post. I don't run an alternator, I run the original generator and voltage regulator setup. Where would be an appropriate place to connect my electric choke on this configuration? Thanks!

I always hook the choke wire to the ignition resistor hot side. I have heard scare stories about spark problems when anything draws power from there, but never seen it happen.

    Stator on Generators?

As I stated in the first post, I do not have an alternator with a stator post. I have a generator and voltage regulator. Is there anywhere on there that you can connect the hot wire to? Does the generator have a stator equivalent?

The carburetor I replaced was indeed a hot air choke with the tube that ran to the exhaust manifold. It was a great system until some plastic bit on the choke was broken among other issues.

I was just wondering where was the best place to put the hot wire on a generator run system. I do appreciate the info that was provided earlier. Any info is useful in my opinion. Thanks.
