Torque Settings
I searched and found lots of posts on rebuilds, but none addressed bolt torque specifically.
I need to replace the valve-guide seals in my stock 390 (1964 Galaxie) and can't find the torque specifics for the following:
1. Intake Manifold
2. Heads
4. Rocker Shaft Assembly
5. Exhaust Manifolds
The valve seals I got have a small metal ring around the outside, do these stay on after assembly?
Anything else I'm forgetting? Thanks a bunch guys!

Intake manifold- Aluminum 25-28 ft lbs. Iron 32-35 ft lbs.
Iron heads 80-90 ft lbs. 64-67 427's 100-110 ft lbs.
Rockers 40-45 ft lbs
Ex Mainfolds 12-18 ft lbs. I also have a 69-70 390 spec of 18-24 ft lbs.
Each item has it's own torque sequence and torque steps. Let me know if you need these also.

That's great! I appreciate the quick response. I love that about these forums. If you know the torque sequence, that would be great.
Also, how about those seals? Do I leave the outer metal ring on the seal? Thanks a bunch! It's not really work unless you'd rather be doing something else!

Yes you leave the metal ring on. They should be should be a snug fit to the guides. You can crimp them if needed but they should be fine without. I've also see where the seals are two different colors. One color for exaust and one for the intake.
I have no diagrams for the torque sequence so bear with me here....
Intake
4 7 1 9 6 front -> 4-6 is the left (dr) side 5-3 the right (pass)
5 10 2 8 3
Step the torque by 5-10 ft lbs till you reach max torque. Note iron and aluminum values.
Head
9 5 1 3 7
10 6 2 4 8
first bring to 70. Then again to 80. Then final to 85-90 ft lbs
Rockers are just 1 2 3 4 step by 10 till 40-45 ft lbs
I'm not sure what exaust manifolds you have so...... 8 bolt vertical pattern is 18-24 ft lbs and the 14-16 bolt 15-20 ft lbs.
good luck and let me know if there is anything you don't understand. maybe someone can post a better pic or something if so.....

I understand what you're saying about the sequence. You've been more than helpful. I'm probably going to dig into the heads tomorrow.
I'd like to do some free advertising if I may (No I'm not affiliated with any stores). NAPA seems to have a lot of parts for these old Fords. I found stuff in stock there that AutoZone and Advance didn't even carry. If anyone's looking for parts, check NAPA.
Thanks again FFR428!It's not really work unless you'd rather be doing something else!
Thank you Roger. .
