Head ??
I have a bare set of C8AE-H heads and on the intake side above the big tube (for lack of the correct word)both front and back ones, one head is stamped 40 and the other is stamped 50. These are GT heads. I have another set of C8AE-H heads and they have no stamps. Any meaning to these numbers?

If your trying to ID them as date code matching to each other the date code is between the center two valve springs. Look for a number/letter/number(s) there. The big tubes sound like the thermactor tubes. These were smog heads. The 40 and 50 could be the mold numbers. Are they cast or stamped? My C2 406 heads have mold numbers 37 and 40 cast into them by the fomoco logo. The C8-H heads have roughly 70cc chambers and std size valves.

RE: Heads
They are dated coded the same day (9F2 w/2 dots under the 9) I wish I knew more. The 40 & 50 had been stamped on heads. As soon as my camera batteries charge up I can post a picture (hopefully)
Thanks for patience,

They are 69 heads with the two dots underneath the "9". 9F2 is the date code of 69/June/2nd. Are you just trying to figure out what the 40 and 50 stampings are for?

heads
One other thing I forgot to ask was as these need to be cleaned, which would be a better alternative - sandblasting or hydroblasting?

have them hot tanked, boiled out or whatever you call it you local machine shop can do it it gets is clean. sand blasting is good but it causes pitting in the metal but with them being cast it may not do muchHonda Motor= 1.6L
Soda Bottle= 2L

I'd think those stampings might have been from the machine shop possibly if the heads have been milled/shaved. They are not stampings from the factory. And ya I agree with Tyler...no sandblasting. Check the thumbprints against the other set you have. It might give you some clue if they have been reworked.

Hi my name is Richie. Does anyone know the cc's and size of the ports on 390 heads with casting C1AE-6090-A, and casting C6AEB? THANKS
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
