oil pan
Hi all, I'm back on my Hudson truck project again and after much deliberation I just can't bring myself to hack up the front end and fit a 'clip' or whatever and am in the process of rebuilding a 390 to go in it. With this truck having centre steer I can see me having clearance problems with the oil pan so to my question, is there a rear sump oil pan I could use to help clear the steering? ideally one virtually the reverse of my original rear sump pan IE with a shallow front end.
Thanks in advance.

67 and later 4x4 pickups use a rear sump oilpan. Be sure to get the pickup also. It mounts to a studed maincap for support. Even better look for a pickup tube from a 391FT truck. The pickup tube has a larger diameter and a removable screen for easy cleaning. The FT pickups bolt to a threaded boss that's on just about every block out there. Canton and Milodon both sell a rear sump oilpan/pickup for $300-350. The stock pans can be had for under $100. I saw a few on eBay today.
