If I had to do this, I'd start googling every possible word combination and read everything. You will be able to network off some of the info and probably find what you're looking for.

Holman Moody has a lot of information on the web, punch them up with a google search....

Not a "AC Cobra" Motor as Shelby got them directly from Ford Motor Corp. If you have a HM138 stamped into it, it could be one of Holman and Moody's crate motors, or it could have been an "in house" rebuild. Since Holman and Moody are still in business today, you might want to contact them directly to see if their "vintage division" has any records or insight into your motor. I'll place my money on the "in house rebuild" in this case, as the extra stamping is something that I've seen done in the past for items like this......

You also might want to contact John Craft. He's a pretty good authority on HM and NASCAR Fords. He was in the AMC episode that covered the Galaxie. John is on the net54 forum sometimes and can possibly help. Send me a pm if you'd like his email.

Bill has a great suggestion as well. There are a few other guys on the net54 forum that have access to old HM documents. Maybe try a post there also.
