    HELP w/ VALVETRAIN!!!!

The only part of assembling an engine I find daunting is to do with the cam/valvetrain.

I dont know the first thing about tuning these things!!!!! How do you get it all to work? Right now I'm going with a hydraulic cam and lifter combo and non adjustable rocker arms. Anyone care to tell me how to set the lifters right?

Might want to look into some adjustable rockers, makes getting things right a whole lot easier.....

If your cam is over .525 lift you'll need adjustable rockers. The stock springs that come with the Edel heads are spec'd at "good to" .600. They are not the best tho and best to change them if your new cam's lift is anywhere near that. You should also run spring cups on those heads. I'd use studs to replace the rocker bolts. ARP sells a set just for the Edel heads including 2 necked down studs for the oil passages. And do make sure you note those and use the correct stud there. Rocker setups can get expensive. If your shafts are not gauled to heck and mic in spec you can reuse them. I'd run spacers to replace the springs. You can buy adj rockers, end stands, spacers, pushrods and studs. You can use the center aluminum rocker stands if needed. You can easily drop $400++++ here...... Might want to look at a complete kit for that. Buying pieces can almost add up to the same depending where you shop.
