Not Denny but yes it is. The SOHC was based on the 427 sideoiler block for which it was designed. It's pretty much the King Daddy of the FE's.

One cool thing about the S.O.H.C. engine in an early 70's Mustang you don't have to pull the engine to change the back plugs.

Not an FE, that's a mid 80's 460 EFI long block with the intake that I used to run on my 514 set on it for mockup purposes.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yeah, it was. That intake is for the old style heads..... The newer style heads use a different design intake, much lower, and even with a single carb will allegedly make more power!!!!!! We went back to Super Gas and now run a 501 cube with some ported and flowed Edelbrock heads, single Dominator and a solid lifter cam. Puts 500 horse to the ground and runs 9.90's The intake in the picture was on the engine in the Super Comp car.....Sold the car, kept the engine.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

At work we have a 1994 Ford truck that has the 7.0 ? Ford EFI engine . When I order parts for it the ford guy said it's a 429 . That engine pulls real good .Last edited by tango; 01-28-2008 at 12:55 AM.

That engine looks like a small block in there ,with the shock towers gone
Plenty of room for a motor plate ,dry sump and a pro charger ,big headers,.......its not like I have drooled over that mustchero or even went thru engine options on it.......
I even remember when Dave was talkin bout sellin it......I would buy it.Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)
