broken FE
Ok I've asked everyone else lets check to see what you folks think most think I'm nuts.
Here what I’ve got;
1963 406 FE all new just put it back together and in this weekend
Edelbrock heads
Comp cam 235 duration 571 lift solid lifters
Comp roller rockers
Stock ford 1963 dual four
what’s wrong it sucks the fuel right out of the cards and basically into number 4 cylinder. Drain carbs thru rear four barrels just floods it until fuel is gone. Running on just one carb now. No fuel to other. Switch carb around same thing. Does not have blown power valves.
What caused it.
Motor had about 15K on it and I was coming back from the Rat Fink reunion last year and tore the bottom out of the intake number four cylinder lifter. OK not really a dig deal patch it together got it home. Yes they are solid lifters took off about a quarter inch.
Tore the pan off cleaned everything out put in new cam no big deal right. Well that’s when this problem started. So I figured washed out ring with all the raw fuel so this winter tore motor down found NOTHING wrong. Visually looks like I just put it together yesterday. But when I put solvent in each runner on heads number 1 leaked on both intake and exhaust so figured head gave up heavy ported with hardened seats. My theory was number 1 cylinder crack and number four was on the up stroke filled cylinder with raw fuel and couldn’t open valve. So I saved and bought a set of Edelbrock heads and replaced out the 45 year old heads right. Will checked and rebuilt motor new rings bearing ect. Will put in this weekend and still doing the same thing.
I’ve never seen anything like this or found anyone that has. Rebuilt holley 1850 carbs again same thing. Thinking maybe buying new carbs. Purt in solid power valves thinking maybe. Put on fuel regulator didn’t help.
If anyone got any ideas send them my way. I’m just about ready to make a plant stand out of it.
Sorry for being so long.

Your post is hard to read and make anything out of it---how about sorting out the facts chronologly and rewriting it---
but some things to consider---did you kill any other lifters? do they rotate in the lifter bores as it runs? do you have the carbs on right? they are supposed to be backwards---Number 1 and #4 are on the same intake runner so that could answer the question about 1-4--also # 6 & 7 .
Float levels???? bowls and transfer tubes??
