I have a 332 with an auto box.

    Wow so much info.

Thanks guys, there is some slack in the distributor but I thought that was normal.
The engine is a recent one as I had to replace the old smog generator, but the dissy was from the old engine.

I forgot to note down the block numbers prior to installing it.

I worked for a Ford dealership back in the day when the FE engines were NEW, LOL.

We did all of our distributor work on an old Sun Machine. The one thing it allowed was for us to set "dual point" distributors with dwell. We just slipped a small piece of cellophane (from a cigarette pack) between one set of points while it was running on the machine. This basically isolated one set so we could read and adjust dwell on the other set. Then just reverse and adjust the second set.

Even back then the distributors would get stuck in the engine because of sludge and would not come out. We made a special "slide hammer" puller that hooked under the distributor to knock them out. Seems like just yesterday.
