    FE headers (390) for '65 T-Bird

anybody know if someone makes cast iron headers for the '65 T-Bird? The stock mainifolds appear poorly designed, basically a rectangular block with the flow at cylinders 7 and 8 flowing against the rest of the exhaust flow. The room between the towers and engine looks pretty tight. My experience with regular headers has been they tend to leak, or loosen after time and would prefer the cast iron type I see available for Mustangs etc.

I have spent several years searching for headers for my 66 Tbird - 428. In the past month I found a company called FPA. Their website is http://fordpowertrain.com/Headers.htm

The "shorty" will fit your 65 Tbird according to the company. They have even offered to provide references to me.

    Hope this works out.

The Sanderson shorty (tube) headers will fit a 66 Tbird for sure, dunno about a 65, and will not fit a 64 unless you swap the steering gear from a 66 on. The 64 has a steering gear box about the size of Rhode Island.
