    In the process of rebuilding, and wondered what's up with the #6 copper coated rod.

    gm did that alot. i have not seen any fords rods done but i do alot more chevys.they will dip the rod and re size it .so they do not throw it out if a bit to big on size .you can see the the rods in the center under the first one the copper coated pin end here is a better shot
