Should have listen to Tech
Anyway I had earlier asked for a 4spd manual soup to nuts for 1969 Ford LTD cloned as Cobra with 500+ hp 390. I had originally planned on going witth 4spd auto to offset steep 4::11 gear but decided on 4spd. manual instead..Tech had told me where to go and not to buy from private individual if possible. Well I didn't listen and bought one privately owned from oa 1968 Montego GT. Since I'm out of country in Puerto Rico working. My mechanic went and picked up and installed it. Well that in itself was nightmare as nothing lined up or went right for entire installation . So it was installed and trans has numerous. problems (though he did not say what problems were exactly )and now needs to come out and be gone thru completely. He didn't go thru it as he was told that trans had been gone thru 5, 000 miles ago. He also though as I did and like I told Tech top loader like C-6. is damn near bullet proof. More power to you mate!
At least you've had the courage to admit you got it wrong and apologise to Tech!
Not many would have done that.johnboy

I did this as a cheaper avenue to $3,500 4 spd auto. Well with cost (remember I needed everything right down to pedals) of trans and all accessories, pick up,install, take out replace numerous parts reinstall and pay my mechanic I haven't saved a dime. Wow and I just bought all those little sports cars I couldn't afford. Divorce court here I come. lolLast edited by slincoln 3; 10-09-2014 at 03:12 PM.

She's got a competition clutch with a 4 on floor she purrs like a kitten til the lake pipes roar.
Coming off the line when the light turns green. She blows them out the water like you've never seen. I get pushed out of shape and its hard to steer when I catch rubber in all 4 gears.
You old timers will remember that. Well all that is true but there is one small detail. IT WAS QUICKER WITH C-6 AND 2000 STALL....But it sure looks fine!!!
Earning respect an 1/8 mile at a time. True Respect is earned not given. But then some of us have the power to take it....
