On the crank it's on the number 1 or and 7 counterweight in most cases. Some cranks do not have a Ford number but a "2U" or "3U" or IU, IUB, IUA, B, A etc... Look for some numbers and letters and post what they are. The block casting number should be on the side of the block above the oil filter mount. If your block has the ribs on the outside there is a chance it's a service block which has no casting numbers but should have the date code. If I remember your block is a 62? It should have the 2 bolt motor mounts. If it has the 4 bolt and ribs it might be a service block if no casting number is found. Keep in mind some blocks had the same casting numbers like the 390/428 and 353/427 etc... If it's a 62 it should have a C2 number and date code. G. Send me a PM with your phone number if you need more help. I'll give you a call if you like. G.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
