I have a ford 390 that was just rebuilt with 400hp so they say I did a compression check and 140 was high 135 was low it has a Elgin E965P cam bore 80 over and it will not run with the timing below 31 BTC any help would be great it has a mallory unilite also Thanks for your time

THE MOTOR NEEDS MORE TIMING IT SOULD BE BETWEEN 34 AND 36 DEGREES TOTAL AND CHECK BALENCER AND MAKE SURE IT READS RIGTH MAY HAVE TO RECURVE DISTRIBUTOR SO YOUR TOTAL AND A INITIOL IS RIGTH.

Thanks for the reply I should have said the initial timing at 750rpm is off the tab around 31BTC Total timing is around 45.I checked the balancer number 1 all the way up and balance shows TDC.The thing only has about 10psi of vacuum.
