390 gear drive
Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone makes a gear drive like pete jackson for a 390 engine? I also want to change the cam in it. I think it has a 428 cobra jet cam right now but i want something that will idle pretty radical and rough. I'm not real familiar with how camshaft specs determine the idle, so i just need to know what to look for. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks guys,
Josh.

just checked my paw(pawengineparts.com) catalog and they show a milodon gear set for the 390 for $329.95, pretty pricey, then again everything is pricey for fe's.

Is there a reason they dont make gear drives for FE's? I mean whats my alternative? i guess ill have to get a blower now! Is the Milodan gear good? Is it noisy like the Pete Jackson?
Thanks everyone,
Josh

i honestly have never used any milodon parts, i know they are a pretty big name in the aftermarket parts industry, parts are hard to come by for these motors i think because they stopped making them in the 70's, but i have never heard anyone say they weren't good motors, i also have a 390 in my 68 f100, i am thinking of stroking it or switching to the larger 428as long as the cars are fast and the women hot, life is good
