saw a pic of a motor today and the guy said to was a ford 427 OHC motor, with the spark plugs in the top of the heads or intake and it was used in the 1970s. didnt know ford had a OHC motor in the 70s.Mike

He must of been talking about the 427SOHC or "Cammer" as it was called. It was based on the 427 sideoiler block and had overhead cams with a timing chain that was almost 7 feet long. NASCAR banned it after a few races and it found it's way into the NHRA and drag racing. If you want the ultimate ford engine this is it. Something like 680 HP out of the box stock as I remember. G.
