    Angry no oil pressure

I have a 302 stroker motor but it has no oil pressure. I have tried priming the motor but pressure gauge reads zero. I installed a remote oil filter and when the oil lines are removed oil will come out. Took off the valve covers and there is no oil at the pushrods.
I checked the switch for the gauge with air pressure and it reads the pressure being put to it, so I figure it's working. I had this motor built by a guy in Cal. and I'm not really sure about whats inside (I can build street rods but not into the engine deal, figure that one out) any info on this problem would be helpful.

anyone know the locations of all the oil galley plugs????

Is the oil filter geting oil to it?I know you said it comes out of the lines(at the block assuming) not that the lines to the remote filter aren't kinked, blocked or pinched. And are you priming it at the oil pump shaft with the distributer removed by hand or cranking the engine over? I came across a few stubborn ones that were air bound. Priming the oil filter and priming oil pump by hand resolved the problem eventually.
Think about it, the system is pretty simple just double check it. The cam drives the distributer, distributer drives the pump shaft(make sure its there and in the pump and dist. correctly), the pump shaft drives the oil pump. Oil is picked up from the oil pan through the oil sump(not that the tube is cracked or not tight and sucking air), then through the oil pump, then to the oil filter and so on and so on.
Also I think there may be galley plugs in the back of the block behind the flywheel. I'm sure that's probably just what you wanted to hear.
    Good Luck

yeah, I tried just about everything that you listed. I'm turning it over with the distributor out and with a drill. I also thought that it was sucking air around the oil pump or that I had a bad pump so I bought another pump and now when I cranck up the drill you can feel it pumping before that it was hard to tell. As far as the oil galley plugs in back I was told that if they are missing that when you turn the pump the oil runs down the back of the motor, if that's true then there's no problem back there. I know that there is oil galley plugs in front and I guess that my next plan of attack. I'm hoping that it's not the cam bearings because alot of people have told me that may be the problem. I think I'll try priming and turning the motor over like you said, because at this point I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Thank's for the advice.

Drills dont quite do the job as they tend to loose power when the pressure starts to build and usually wont get oil to the rockers, when I primed the 351-W I put in my 55 fairlane I used a speed wrench which is hand powered and I could hear oil comming from the rockers. Those speed wrenches are uaually 1/2 inch drive so I adapted it down to use a 1/4 inch drive socket to turn the shaft and hand power was alot better then what a drill can do. Jeff

After working on the car on Turkey Day and yesterday I finally decided it was time to tear the front off the coupe and remove the timing cover and low and behold there are all three oil galley plugs missing. I would say that might be a problem. I'm going to put the plugs in and hope that the ones in back weren't forgotten or that the cam bearings aren't in right. It's really sad when you get a performance shop to build you a motor and they forget to install parts, I guess that's one way to cut costs. Thank's guys for the help , I'll keep you posted on my progress. Hopefully it will be good news.

Yeah reborn55 put them in today and cranked up the drill and the oil started to flow and without any leaks in the back. I already have the coupe just about back together. I guess that's all I need for Christmas this year.
