number 1 on the distributor should be marked on the cap, but if its not........maybe i'll just got take a picture of mine for you, ...... and your firing order will be 15426378 it'll be the one inline with the rear clip that holds on the distributor cap... or at least on standard distributors.... i'll post a picture when photobucket gets back up from maintenanceLast edited by thesals; 12-08-2005 at 11:58 PM.

i have a set of c3ae-d rods and arp rod bolts. rods have been resized straighten mag. shot peened and polished. crankshaft is a 1M with the rockwell test mark. i bought a new weiand stealth
dual plane high rise. mallory ing. comp cam dual pattern hyd .477 lift 219dur @.050 intake 510 lift 230dur @ .050. hv oil pump, harden pump shaft, harden push rods. i am hoping this will be a good setup for my 1963 4dr fairlane 3 on the tree. i can't install headers because of 3 on the tree so am porting out stck exh. manifolds.

sbf cam
when rebuilding a sbf you should go to a cam with the 351 or 80/s HO firing order stock 260 289 non HO 5.0 have 7 and 8 firing next to each other which stresses the back end of the crank, that's why Ford changed it... a retired ford engineertimothale

if you are willing to spend about 3k, you could upgrade to a 5speed tremec with a conversion kit and everything, using a cable clutch, which would allow you to add headers.... and you'd pull better gas mileagejust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
