new clutch
Not sure there are many gear grabbers on here besides me, but I caught a bit of info on Zooms new clutch setup on Sunday TV, when to their web site and found out a bit more. Kind of looks like a streetable version of the McLeod soft-lok drag car clutch:

Patent pending ZVT™ clutches add clamp load by applying centrifugal force to the pressure plate as RPM of the engine increases. Each unit is designed with consideration to the application’s peak torque RPM range. Additional clamp loads of over 700 pounds can be achieved within these ranges. With a ZVT™ cover assembly, one can expect torque handling gains of 300 lb-ft or more with organic friction material and well over 600 lb-ft with ceramic button friction materials. The main benefit, other than more clamp load and torque handling ability, is the clutch pedal will feel stock and will not overload clutch release systems or engine thrust bearings. This amazing new product will be on display at the 2005 SEMA Show in Booth # 27423 located in the Central Hall. Stop by and see live ZVT™ demonstrations throughout each day on a portable clutch dyno. Plans are currently in the works to extend this new technology into the Mustang and Sport Compact markets.
ZVT™ will be on Truck Universe Saturday, 10/22/05 at 10:30am EST on the SPEED channel. It will air again on Wednesday, 10/26/05 at 4:00PM EST.
More information about ZVT™ will be available on a brand new website coming soon! We will also then reveal other exciting things that are happening in the world of ZOOM. Stay Tuned! In the meantime if you would like information on where to buy ZVT™ clutches please contact our Sales Department ."
