fords will ussually outlive chevys... but chevys cost half what a ford does to build.... so depending on wether you'd like to build your motor twice or just once is how i figure it... other than that, power is just related to how you build it, chevys can beat fords and fords can beat chevys and both of them can always beat hondas
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

and both of them can always beat hondas [/QUOTE]

Just yesterday I had a customer in my office and he noticed my rod picture on my shelf, so we started talking about cars. He is a drag racer, runs a Honda, turns in the low 9.s. I asked if supercharged, he said no, nitros. Runs 14.5 compression, lots of parts made of steels he has never heard of, and still breaks axles and transmissions regularly.

I said "man, that's one fast ricer," which caused him to look at me not so nicely, but I meant it as a compliment. So, I guess "ricer" is not a nice thing to say to a Honda owner???

i just cant see where kids my age think its cool to do a burnout and have the front tire(s) smoking, i picked up a rice magazine at walmart the other day and it had a 4page article on how to do a burnout in a rear-wheel drive car!!! the first line was "doing a burnout in a rearwheel drive car is a bit more tricky than in a front wheel drive car, because you cant just put the e brake on and hit the gas" i was apalled. there was a kid at my school who had some honda with a dumb body kit that hit every speedbump in town, he was telling me how he knows so much about cars because he worked at a rice shop tinting windows, i asked him if he knew what a camshaft was and he told me "im not a motor guy, im a body kit guy" what a moron, i am greatly saddened that this is gonna be the next generation of automotive enthusiast's my generation has the most terrible taste. the first day i drove my galaxie to school someone told me "that thing sounds like its about to break down" and the kid that told me that is into cars, i was like it has a big cam moron. then hes tries to tell me how to get more power out of it, what does he know about power when he cant tell if it has a big cam?

How can it take 4 pages to say; "Dump the clutch and smash the gas."?

rice boys are so funny, they invest $5000 into their car to add 200lbs of body kit which also adds a bunch of wind resistance(specially the ones that flap when they're going fast because they dont even know how to secure them properly), a big spoiler that adds uneaded down force, an exhaust system that isn't even needed unless they had a big deisel, and a bunch of useless parts that get their car to peak at about 220 hp..... which i can build an engine for $5000 that will make my car, that looks cool stock, run with about 400hp.... it just really doesn't make since to me... and dont even get me started on the "bling"

Gee, looking at it that way it looks like; keep trying to get it right over and over vs getting it right the first time, every time......................

How in the world do you expect them to get enough down force on the rear wheels so they get maximum traction if they do not have the big spoiler?? Oh wait they have front wheel drive don't they.

the 396 is one of my favorite chevy motors, and the 283 b/c i own one so i have to like it. but if i had my pic between a chevy 427 and a ford 427 i would take the ford anyday, mainly because you dotn see as many ford 427 at a car show, you can pretty much bet that at any given show you go to there is gonna be at least one 427 vette or chevelle or something, i just sick of seeing the same car over and over they are all the same, ill have mine served in Ford Blue
    Thanks
