trouble finding intake manifold
alright so i finished rebuilding the 351 for my econoline.... and i'm having trouble finding an aftermarket intake manifold that fits it.... all of the ones i've found have 12 bolt holes but my heads and factory 4bbl intake have 16 bolt holes.... anyone else run into this problem? if so any solutions?just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

use your factory intake, there is not too much of a performance gain of going aftermarket. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Matt's right, a factory 4bbl is better than most aftermarket pieces, bigger ports and better port match. If yours was a 2bbl, though, a factory one might be hard to find. I just leave those two bolts out of each side and they work. On one engine I threaded the holes and put Allen plugs in to make it look better. But you're going the other way, so the holes aren't there in the manifold, no problem.Last edited by R Pope; 11-26-2006 at 05:11 AM.
