    289 valve adjustment

Hello, iam new to ford stuff, but does anyone knows what is the best way to do a valve adjustment for a newly rebuild bone stock 1965 289 with hyd. lifters? Also what is the purpose of the small pin that goes on the rear main cap (#5)? Is it needed? Thanks

The pin in the cap keeps the seal from spinning.

get the single piece oil pan gasket that mr gasket makes, comes with the front and rear main seals built into the pan gasket and then you should have in your gasket kit a half circle seal for the rear main that goes on top, if you have the full circle one get that seal from your local parts store, costs hardly anything.... that 1 piece oil pan gasket is a jewel though, best seal i've ever gotten out of a pan gasket and they cost just about the same price
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
