289W @ 302W Crankshafts
Another one of those "Whats the Difference Questions"........How do you tell the difference between 302W & 289W crankshafts? I have collected bits and peices for both over the years and never marked any of it. Now I want to build up a engine for my 1928 Model A rod I need to work the parts out. Thanks for any help. It is early 289/302 motors.

Cranks
Found on another forum. Does it sound right?
The 289 crank has 1M on it and the 302 crank 2M (somewhere on a counterweight).
The 289 crank has a 2.87" stroke and the 302 has 3", so using a 289 crank with (shorter) 302 rods will give you a 289 CID engine with the pistons not sticking up far enough

Thanks again Richard. Hopefully that is all my Q's answered.

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
