    Engine Parts

I'm looking to rebuild my 1984 302 HO out of a RS Capri . Guy i work with his dad had these parts and gave them to him . He is a mopar guy so i know he gave me a good deal . I hoping the cam is ok for what i'm looking for in a AW Rootbeer build . I want the cam to have some sound but be drivable im not a racer so im learning all this tech stuff. I know i have to change firing order to a 351 but thats not a problem right. I plan on changing the pistons to bring the original 8.4-1 cr up to around 9.4-1 . I will do some clean up on the heads i allways wanted to do this and i have read alot of beach type porting on the 302 heads .

    Cost $100
    The parts are listed .

    New Comp Cam # 35-218-3 (351 grind) W/ lifters
    I/E 456 lift
    Duration @.50 218
    Lobe seperation 110
Info on this says it has a Mild Rough idle

Reconditioned rods (racing type with ARP bolts installed) balanced , fluxed , shot peened and recentered for a 302

All new bearing sets for rebuild

you could go with more lift for better performance. I have used a herbert cam with adv dur. 275/285, lift 475/500 and it worked well. I have used f/t pistons with either 289 heads, or 351 windsor heads cut .060 and that seemed to work well. use a dual plane intake, better than a performer and it will run well.the stock rods with 5/16 ,arp bolts hold up good.

Should be a nice little engine Bobby. Plenty of cam for a cruizer, could go with more, but why??? What ya got is fine for a nice street engine, sure can't beat it for what you paid!!!!

Dave i sold those rods for 5 times what i paid they where rare also way to heavy for me to spin . Went for the cam for some of the sound and drivablilty if i'm not happy i'm going to bump it up a couple notches . I do want some cam sound just not radicle .

According to www.sbftech.com, the 302HO and the 351W have the same firing order already.....

Randy good site . I have found that even the 5.0 HO changed firing order later in years . I think this is when it went to the 351 to take pressure off front main from the old 1-5- firing order.
