351 W to 460
I have a 69 Fairlane 500 fastback with a 351 W which runs just fine, but I also have a 460 sitting in the shop begging for me to do something with it. What do I do? It came stock with a 351.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

Stroke the 460 to 552 and drop it into the Fairlane. Stroke the 351W to 435 and drop it into an early Datsun Z. No problem.

I've ran a couple of the 351W's stroked to 408, but never the bigger armed one that Tech gave you the link for.... One of the 408's I had was in a much-lightened Maverick that ran the 10.90 class with no problem... They're a good engine, but the big blocks with a stroker are downright awesome!!!! Either way is a good solution, just depends on whether you want lotsa cube or even more cubes!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Sell me the 351W when you make the swap. Will it fit in a UPS envelope?Leo Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the RODS that take your breath away.

I'd build a big cube small block (only because I never have) and leave it pretty stock looking.
I don't know where torque over takes the structural integrity but it is a unibody car so if you build a big engine you might want to consider that.
And if you want it to be a 4 speed car I have the correct big shaft toploader for a 69 Torino 428 laying under my bench collecting dust.

It all depends on what you want to spend and how much work you want to do.
If you go with the big block your gonna have to switch tranys.
Probably the cross member and drive line too.
Not to mention moving motor mounts.

Hey Kurt, don't even have to go BBF to get a 460 now.... You can use the World Products Man 'O War Block and a 4.155" bore and a 4.250" stroke... Then add your nicest pair of "Powered by Ford" 302 valve covers and go have some fun!!!!! Lots of folks can't tell the 302 from the 351 block anyway, just call it anything you want and leave 'em scratching their heads!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

If a guy has money He can pritty well do any thing but it cost money In a light car you can go high 10 with a stock stroke 460 with compression and a little head work . with a heavy car 12.00 is easyto reach .
HAY Dave I like your line about cutting up a classic! that one would go real well over the the Boss 302 regestry . They get pick your car apart and tell you your rad is painted the wrong shade of black .
Merry Christmas ya'll
