The guys at ProCharger here locally have been playing with blown Cobras on the dyno, tuning on the fly to max out power while keeping just away from detonation. The numbers your curve shows for stage 3 are real, and on pump gas. A local sideline shop called House of Boost is making a name taking things others cannot make run and cranking out big numbers, too. The guys at Boost are using some aftermarket ECU's, like FAST, which give them an easy window into the dynamic tuning parameters. Crazy stuff to an old guy.

Yup, real crazy!!! There's a shop around here that has been playing with the Ford mod motors since they came out and has turned out some wicked fast cars!!!! Been chatting with them about a 5.4 with the Kenne Bell blower, running on E-85...Lots of octane, available, and cheap compared to race gas.... With good fuel and more boost, the numbers get even crazier!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

hmm... If I can find a 2003 up Explorer with the 4.6, I might just have to swap the 2.5 4cyl out of my '98 Ranger... everything would be bolt in from a 2003 up Explorer.. just gotta get a manual trans that would keep the shifter in the stock location, cause I gotta keep 3 pedalsYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

I play with the tuning stuff a bit...The EFI on the Horse is tuneable with a lap top....no blower or anything but it's surprising what can be done just playing with the fuel curve and advance system.... Kind of my "Intro to EFI" project! Been looking at some of the really wicked combinations available for the 5.4's, interesting stuff to say the least.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Gotta be a 3 pedal, Matt!!!! go lookin', and while you're at it, check out the Mark 8's and Navigators....Maybe you can score a DOHC with the forged crank....check for the one's with the 8 bolt crank flanges, they are mostly the forged cranks.....then all you need is the Manley rods and pistons!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
