Cant stop overheating
I have a 351C, it looks and feels like it has been modified to be some sort of drag race engine. It runs very hot and idle's way up in RPMS
I feel like I might just have to give up on this engine and move to something more everyday drive worthy, and suggestions on a fix and if not a fix, something that will fit in nice to a 46 Ford Coupe

have you checked the dwell,timing,carb.adj.? sounds like the fast idle cam is stuck in the on poistion. what carb. does it have? know any thing about the engine? and what about the heating problem?

Too many unknowns to offer you any suggestions. What kind of radiator, fan, etc. Has it always run hot? What temp is "too hot?" Sitting at lights or going down the road?
More info we get the better your chances are of getting some good suggestions.

Here's a fairly complete checklist from the wiki on another forum. Read through it and see if you have missed something.....
