Is there a "TIGER" under my hood?

I have a 1964 ford econoline with a 1966 289 hipo in it. I'm trying to figure out what kind of car it came out of. I don't know much about it, but the intake manifold says "TIGER" (diagonally).
Can anyone help me identify what I have? I know they made a Sunbeam Tiger with a 289 hp in it, but how can I tell???

To my knowledge, the Sunbeam Tiger was never offered with a 289 HP engine stock. The earlier versions used a 260 cu in with 160 HP and the later versions came with the 200 HP 289 cu in version. There were racing parts available, however, and your engine may have an aftermarket intake.

I surfed the net a little.

A group called LAT...or Los Angeles Tiger...marketed kits to retrofit Sunbeam Tigers, and other Ford powered cars. Carol Shelby was involved in the effort too.

The Tiger logo was from that company, and used on their parts, rather than from Sunbeam.

Can you post a picture of it? Check the pic on this site www.mustangtek.com there's a Tiger intake in the intake section.

I've seen Tiger imprinted on the aluminum valve covers, but never on the intake. A picture would be cool.

Here is a picture from the net. I don't know if it's the same intake that he has.

That intake you have may be worth a buck or two to a guy building/restoring a Tiger wanting certain aftermarket parts. I'd definately investigate it more!

    Cool piece!
