I have a friend in Ausi town to named Terry Parker he has his own company over making parts for the 302 Boss and the 351C.
And he told me just like Dave Severson did, use the trick flow heads they are by far the best heads out there right now for the money.
This guy can tell you anything you need to know about the motor you want to build and probably the best way to do it.
I'll give you his E mail and you can ask him for his number, I don't want to just give that out but he is a really nice guy.
I have talked to him for hours before and helped him find some of the old 351 4V cleveland heads before and got them shipped to him.
Ask him about his line of products too, he's got some cool stuff, He just added some new stuff to his catalog.
Here is his E Mail address parkerracing@itfusion.com.au

My other friend Rick DeVitto just sent me a up date on the progress of his Ranchero,
here is a link for it. He would be another good source for your project.

I know Dave; I am jealous, that thing is really shaping up.
I have been trying to get set up here so I can get back to work on mine.
The way it's looking, everyone's will be done before mine is.
Of course if I walk into one of the casino's and drop a couple bucks
in a machine and get lucky, I could just ship it off to you to finish.
But then thats just wishful thinking. HE! HE! HE!

Just a quick question... are you racing this car? That much head on the street could leave you wanting! imho..

it will be mostly street driving with occasional racing at the track for some fun. why do you think thats to mush head for a 393 clevor.

For street use, the 2V heads work fine, the port size on the 4V and the majority of the aftermarket heads need the engine to be turning some fairly high rpm to work right. Normal street use makes all the extra flow of the big ports unnecessary.

The 2V heads with a bit of match porting an inch or so down the runners, along with a multi-angle valve job and the right cam (call the tech's at Comp or other cam companies for their advice) and the Clevor engines are excellent performers.... If I were building a Clevor today, it would be either the stock heads or the new design Trick Flow heads.

i dont know if i want chance on useing the cleveland 2v head do to pinging.i think the 4v heads will work if only i can do something to get them to react at little lower rpm range for the street i dont mind the higher rpms

All the 351M and 400M use the 2V cleveland heads and they don't have alot of problems with pinging unless your just using bad gas or a really low oct.

Be very careful of what you are buying. I am a dealer for AFD, (Air Flow Dynamics) heads from Australia. They offer 3 versions of the Cleveland Head in Aluminum and the workmanship is top quality. They have a 2V head for small 351 inch and 302 engines and two four barrel versions. One is the 4VSP with 220 cc intake runners and the other is the 4VR with 245 cc intake runners. All of these heads flow over 300 CFM with the 4VR flowing about 359 CFM at .700 inch lift.

The heads are available bare or complete. I purchase them bare and assemble them with Ferrea Stainless Steel Valves and appropriate Springs etc for the cam being used. The basic heads are $1,595.00 a pair bare. They can be assembled for Street Strip use for about $2,250 and for Competition Use from $2,500 up depending on parts as in Severe Duty Stainless Steel Valves or Titainium.

You may be only wanting Aussie 2bbl Cast Iron Heads though but I wanted to let you and other readers know that these heads are available and are priced very close to what Edelbrock Cleveland 2bbl heads cost that don't do much for the Cleveland in performance. There is a shipping charge to get them here from Australia but I try to bundle several sets in one order when I can to keep the cost down as much as possible. I do have pictures of the heads I can email out if anyone is interested. Please contact me at, mikesspeedparts@aol.com if you are interested as I check that email address several times a day and can only get on here very seldom. Thanks and please let me know if I can help. Mike.
