Way behind with projects stacked up??? Sounds familiar!!!! Went to a test and tune session at the digs on Sunday (an .020 light, ran 7.82 @ 168 mph, the old man still has it!!!) and a couple of the guys had their alcohol cars out for a shakedown, they were both way fat on the tune up so everyone in staging had the watery eyes!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

The dash looks like you took a piece of 3" thick walnut and started carving! Very nice grain flow, and they did great on the clear coat, too. Gonna look great in place - just don't forget and try to carve your initials in the wood....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Yeah, first time out for the year is always the best!!! Now I like to roam around the pits and see which of the other old farts lived through another winter!!!!!!
The car I drove was a '67 Comet (557" Ford on ethanol) that I built for a friend of mine about 15 years ago......A couple of young guys bought it last winter and asked me to come out and set the chassis for them, guess it still works!!!! I was thrilled with the light, though not too many years ago I would have been kicking myself in the butt for being slow!!!!! They'll be running Super Comp with the car, did a twist on the throttle stop and the new (proud) owner laid down a 7.90 with a 6, then backed it up with a 7.90 with a 2----Needless to say we all went home happy!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

As part of the dash "upgrade".. I replaced all the gauges with new ones from Classic. That meant the gas tank had to come out.
Sigh.... I feel like R2 on the west coast! It started with a motor swap.. and then a dual quad and oil pan.. and then the gauges.. and then the dash.. and then the gas tank!!!! So the tank cover takes a hit to the paint! But I did confirm the old sending unit was trash! At least that's something!
So after the tank gets back in, there will be some body work and primer... of course we all realize that the color has to change now right?!?!?!?!

Heck, I understand where it all relates to the original intention of swapping the engine!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Hahahaha!!! Yep, mine started as a radiator swap!
Now what you need to do is get another cool old vehicle to use as your only daily driver and start doing irresistable upgrades to it while still trying to work on the ever mushrooming '34 project.......then have some "powers that be" curb your enthusiasm with complaints about the noise you make while working on them....
Perhaps, I can help you with some color choices......"It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

I had forgotten how yours had started... It was so long ago.. I only remembered you taking it apart and the neighbor issues..
It's that "blocking" that drags it down for me.. oh.. and the taping... and the priming.. then the color selection..
I'll put the repair into primer and call it good for the summer. When I painted it originally, the paint went well. The clear just never flattened out and in some areas no matter how much color sanding I did, I couldn't get the clear flat. it looks like it has chicken skin..
Merry Christmas ya'll
