    Question Blower idler pulley

Just got a Weiand 174 blower for a Ford 302. It's missing the "idler pulley" and belt. It is should be a 10-rib pulley. Does anyone know if I would necessarily have to but the idler kit from Weaind that retails about $300....of can I just substitute it with another tensioner and another pulley as long as it's 10-rib?....
Anyone have any feedback 'bout these blowers?
