I hear you about the slower pace and fewer neighbors......one of the reasons I'm happy where I'm at.

Speaking of security video I put up some cameras on my shop a while back......never had any problems here, but it lets me see if someones at the gate and when the mail comes. This morning when I went out to the shop the motion detector was beeping non stop. I turned on the monitor saw the problem pretty quickly.......a darn spider had built a web across the front of the camera and there was just enough breeze to cause it to move and set off the detector.

I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Sorry to hear that B&B aren't pulling their weight, maybe you can leave them behind?!?!?!
I don't do the Instagram thing but I am very familiar with that scene, I spent some 5 weeks in Richmond, CA a few years back. I was just a couple blocks off the highway and wouldn't go out after dark! I couldn't even get Domino's to deliver a pizza to my hotel room! To get into Richmond Point you had to go past 2 police cruisers. If you didn't "look right", you weren't going past!

No thanks, you can keep CA all for yourselves imho!

I dont want to mislead anyone here. San Diego is a wonderful and for the most part very safe place. The problem started about a year ago when a legal pot shop opened up the street. Say what you will about the legality of pot, I dont care but all the crazys driving to and from the pot shop stoned made this one very un safe corner! Enough of an issue that Im changing locations after 15 years here. The crime has peaked, or has it? homless tweeker population has risen, and human crap in the drive way has convienced me it’s time for me invest my time and money in a different community. Im sure every place has its issues but the increadable increase in this last year has taken it toll on this once nice neighborhood. Its not going to get any better.

Did I mention how DARN NICE the folks are in Missouri?

Once upon a time, actually a long time ago, I spent a year in San Diego going through Marine Corps radar repair school and really loved the place. That was in 1962 and things have changed and not for the better. The last time I was in San Diego was in 2015 when my grandson graduated from boot camp and I doubt I'll ever go back.

You got me thinking, Jump on PCH up through La Jolla through La Jolla junction at the road to Miramar, down thorough Torrey Pines and Del Mar and then through Encinitas and Leucadia and on to Carlsbad. One of the best drives in the world especially in the summer time. And then through Oceanside and the 26 miles up the coast of Camp Pendleton to San Clemente and then all of the beaches to Long Beach. My dad's 3 4 wife lived in Long Beach right across the street from Lakewood High School. Then on Saturday night to Lion's and watch GBP take on the goose.
It's too bad the liberal progressives turned a paradise into a cesspool.
Damn do I miss those days and am sure glad I got to experience them.
Oh, and yes, the people here in Missouri are plenty friendly and like you I'm an invader as I'm originally from Ohio.

I agree to the friendly folks here in MO, a few years ago I worked at a local hospital and a contractor from Chicago told me he as a contractor was treated terrible in most other parts of the country while working, but in Missouri we treated him so great he was wanting to move here (we fed him BBQ) he said it was unbelievable and loved coming here to work. Unfortunatly there are many drugs here also, when I was young it was confined to large cities, now even the smallest town are filled with meth, they use it long enough they cull themselves though. I am located between KC and Springfield and enjoy the state very much, most of it is beautiful. If global warming is actually happening I guess we will see more people heading here! Welcome to Missouri
