68 Burb
Hot rod? rat rod? beater? custom truck?
I kinda like that this truck is hard to categorize almost as much as I hate being labeled!
I found my 68 Suburban in a field full of spiders and dirt just a year ago.
To date, I have put a 350/700r4 in it, serpentine belt drive, updated charging and I straightened out the disc brake conversion that a previous owner had started. I cut the front coils and installed 2.5 inch dropped spindles and installed 2 inch lowering blocks in back. It's temporarily painted satin pearl white and the inside flooring has been treated to three coats of textured elastomeric sealcoating (similar to linex or lizardskin), a blue camo job, and a pair of captains chairs. Electric door poppers complete the work done, to date.

Pretty cool so far! ...but you make me want to cry. :-(
I just sold a '68 I owned since '78! Great truck! I put over 300K miles on it myself. I hope you have the same good experience.
You have done one of the things I wanted to do.... lower it. I also planned a chop and a bigblock.... but I don't have enough room in my life for another project. Sad.

Sweet Suburban....I built a 68 Chevy PU in 1990. 350/350,PS,PB,A/C. I painted it white single stage PPG. I miss that truck.
You have the right idea on this one. Looks great. Keep it going....It's easy..Just ask someone that hasn't ever done it!
See ya on the road.

That's a cool idea on the painted interior!
