The Dream...55F100
I thought I would try and post my build of my F100. This build is slightly different than most builds...I will attempt to do all aspects from frame to paint. I have nick named this project the "Junk Yard Dog" as it will be built with more donor parts than aftermarket. I should mention that this is my first project and that it will all be a learning experience.
Enough said here it is:
Day 1, This is what I was starting with.
5.jpg
Sand blasted body parts. (many surprises came out here)
61.jpg
Mustang ll front end.
87.jpg
Cab parts on frame after rust repairs.
131.jpg
Rebuilt 302 and T5 trans on frame.
176.jpg
More to come once I figure out how to add more pics???Last edited by Cdnwillyg; 04-26-2010 at 10:19 AM. Reason: RE-sized pics

Looks like a great start on a nice project....now if you could maybe downsize the pics to about 600 X 400 they'd be a lot easier to look at...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Thanks guys! Not much happening lately...trying to move to a warmer climate, selling the house, trying to find another...got to keep the little lady happy so the build can continue.
Quick question though...as I`m into the high build primer and block sanding some of the cab and inner fenders, can I leave this until I have all the alterations, alignments, etc. done. I do have epoxy primer under the high build and anywhere I sanded through I touched up with more epoxy primer.canadianwillyg

Well tomorrow I leave for Arizona to pick up my parts from Mid Fifty's. New front fender, two 3" wider rear fenders, new bed kit, new tail gate, running boards, all new glass, roll pan, tilt hood kit and some misc. pieces. Its going to feel like Christmas in July...can't wait!canadianwillyg

The high build should be fine as long as all the parts with it on are inside out of the weather... As soon as I read you have epoxy under the high build IMO you're starting out great on the work!!! Good Epoxy primer is dang near bullet proof. Some of my own stuff seems to sit around for years with just epoxy on it while I'm working on other people's stuff (the cobbler's kids go barefoot!!!) and with nothing more then a bit of 240 grit scuffing, the epoxy is back to life and ready to work! Done the same when I had hi build over the epoxy and it sat for awhile, just make sure it's scuffed with 240 before you put anything else over it!
BTW, how far South you moving, anyway? Your project is one of my most favorite year Ford's, but unfortunately still remains on my "things to do" list!!!!!! Going to be great watching yours come together!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Thanks for the assurance that my parts are protected, I was getting worried about all the work to get them clean and ready to repair might be in vain.
Well in Canada a warmer climate means we should only get winter 3 months a year, right now in Alberta it feels like we only get 3-4 weeks of non-winter. We are trying to get over into the Kelowna, BC area, nice there for all of the year..maybe 3 months of non-summer weather. All still in Canada.
After pricing out the parts US side, if I could move there and build my truck that would be just great (weather and $$$$ wise). We have thought about that but one can only be in the US for 160 days a year without becoming a citizen and that isn't the easiest thing to do after 9/11.So I guess the trips into the US will have to do for now. Nice little vacation!!! ( if my old F150 makes the trip okay!)
Whereabouts are you from Dave?canadianwillyg

No kidding! I was at Sturgis in 2002 and it was smoken hot then.(100+) Love the Black Hills and the Needles Highway, great on bikes! That was a touch to hot for me though! I like it in the 80's is just fine...great for cruising!canadianwillyg
