Let's see now, if I gave up paying taxes, paying insurance premiums, and eating for a year, maybe I could at least come up with a down payment???????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Well, if I gave up the doctors and medications in addition to all your choices... yeah, we might be able to get the first payment! LOL..
I was watching Gears on the Speed channel night before last in my hotel room and they were doing a Cougar, with a Kaase stroked Boss 9 with his 8 stack injection he developed with FAST FI.. what a sight! I think they said it's stroked to 527 cid and made over 800 hp!
I wonder if he takes Visa or Mastercard?

Yup, caught that one too!!! Think my next Ford engine is going to be one of the new Coyote's though, got a shop here locally that's been messing with the mod engines since they came out and I've seen what those little engines put out with the Kenne-Bell Supercharger. About a month ago I was up there when he made one pull with one on the chassis dyno, truly amazing!!!!! Better then 600 at the wheels!!!!!!!! and, they still get respectable fuel mileage on a steady cruise!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I was reading today on Engine Builder how the aftermarket is building blocks and heads for the small c.i. engines. Right down to the Ford 4 cylinder.Last edited by 1gary; 08-29-2012 at 11:18 PM.

Spent a bit of time on the '57 working on the right fender trying to make it look like the left fender!!!! Got the pieces cut and tacked in place. Present "concern" is how to perhaps make the front a bit more aero friendly, these things were like trying to fly a barn door down the road!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

It won't be any major changes, just trying to smooth things out a bit...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I've been doing some homework on the LS engines, trying to decide on what might be best! Tentatively, I've decided on the GM aluminum LS-7 Block, part #19213580, with Lunati crank and rods, Wiseco pistons--comes as a special order package from Lunati. Haven't got all the information I need yet, so nothing definite on the stroke, but it will be a 4.125" bore....
As for cylinder heads, from the techs I've spoken with, nothing seems to be better then the GM ls-7 heads! They come stock with CNC'd ports and chambers, titanium intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves..... Cam will be from Comp Cams. Holley and Edelbrock both offer a high rise looking affair for an intake, and will accept either a 90 or 102 throttle body. Mark at Street Performance in Mena, Arkansas will be doing the engine harness and computer---they also work very closely with the techs at Comp to get the cam and the brain to work together!!!
None of this is final, and yeah, it's all expensive but I do want some really first rate performance (500+ hp and torque)!!!! The car itself will be right at 2500 lbs. when done, transmission will be the T-56 Magnum for cruizin' then if I decide to go play at the track I'll put in my old trusty Doug Nash 5 speed with a McCleod Soft Lok clutch. Rear will be a 9" (of course), gear ratio not decided for sure yet, probably in the 3.50-3.73 range for the street.....
Wondering what you guys might have for input on the selections I've made so far???
Thanks for the help!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave,
That T56 tranny comes with either a 0.64 or 0.50 final OD ratio. If you get the 0.50 and run some fairly tall tires then you can run some pretty low gears and still cruise just fine. You need to decide on your wheels and tires, and especially your tire OD before you finalize your rear gear selection. I think that you can run at least 4.11's and cruise at around 2000rpm on the interstate.Roger

Getting closer on this project. What a lot of work!
