Jerry asked the same question I was about too, although I think it is maybe because the distributor is at the wrong end of the engine ? LOL.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Yes dizzy clearance mate, the 59" belt allows the idler arm to swing up a bit more and clears the dizzy cap, you wouldn't think 2" shorter would make so much difference !!!

As Roger said Charlie they are nowhere near the quality of ARP bolts plus I'm using the stronger studs

can you put the idler on the other side???? it would also help with the pull of the belt by the rotation of the crank---would help garud against the socalled ratcheting which leads to premature belt failure----and if you could put idler on outside forcing belt inwards would help with the WRAP with more teeth in contact-------

and from an old time fuel dragster/funnycar guy-----we always put the big pulley on the bottom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Jerry, I tried it but the belt fouls the top hose, however tomorrow i'm gonna try it again with the idler pulley pushing the belt inwards.
I'm starting off underdriven at 5lbs boost to get it all bedded in, then I can play around with pulleys and boost

Was gonna leave my Art Carr manual TH400 in black but it looked shite against the motor so out with the die grinder and wire brushes and its ready for paint

Didn't take long to splash a bit of colour on it, much happier with it now
