Well its took long enough but the motor is finally in place in the car, what with holidays and rainy days etc etc it seems to have taken an age to get it in place, its a 2 man job as its a painted and detailed motor and on the nice days there was never anybody around to help.
Anyway step forward my old mucker Brian Lucas who helped out big time today, a couple of hours and we had the sucker in
Everything went well except for one valve cover needs slight modification due to being too close to the firewall, they have never been tried on the motor in the car but its an easy fix
We also reconfigured the blower idler for more belt wrap and the idler is now on the left.

Well that holiday in the heat of Texas is just a long lost memory now aye. Heck the Willys is certainly looking the mean machine now with the eye candy slotted inbetween the rails. Looking cool Steve.

I wanted to get the engine sealed up asap so valve cover was an urgent job, my tig is setup for a stainless exhaust i'm doing at the moment so popped over to my mate Garys, plus he has a brand new Miller Dynasty
First job was to cut off the offending portion, then we sliced up a new end cap and job was a good un
Rushed back to fit it and it was pissing down yet again !!!

Wish I could put down a bead that looked like that! Oh, you say it takes practice, practice, practice.....? Can't I just buy a better welder?
A great job, once again, Steve. Loving the fact that you've done this one 100%, even the body!!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Yes, it is amazing watching this car being build in your front yard with no security fences etc. and battling the weather gods all the time. And on the news here this morning the UK is in for a horrendous storm with lots of rain, high wind and maybe flooding so hope you are safe where you live Steve.

Hi Whip, yeah it's real rainy and windy here today, just been out and checked on car and the wind has ripped my California car cover, bummer !!!
Hopefully my mate the trimmer up the road can stitch it up for me.
The wind is 35mph today so things are blowing around a fair bit.
