No body knows what he was trying to do but You ain't gonna believe this !!!
He over took the cars coming the other way (the blue Merc is mine) then veered onto the pavement then came off the pavement straight at me, hit me then took off in the air and landed on the black Fiesta's bonnet !!! I reckon he was at least 10ft in air when he went past my side window.

Saw that you had a couple of pals come to the rescue, Steve, and that the Willys has made the trip which is great! Hoping that you remembered to take the camera along, and that we'll see some pic's of the event? Sounds like the twit on the scooter had and caused a bad day all around, taking out your car with the bike, and the second one with his body! Had to hurt, but then again when you act that stupid it's a bit over due. Seems that he may be in line for consideration at the 2014 Darwin Awards....

I'm wondering if his previous (non-violent) stop was at the local pub . . .

Usually the idiots who pull stunts like that around here are uninsured or illegal and uninsured, either way it's you and me that end up paying for their mistakes. Had a guy in the hospital a few years back with 6 DUI's was drunk on his motorcyle, ran a light and hit a father and his child in the crosswalk. Child died father lost a leg, the guy was so drunk all he did was cuss and yell and complain that nobody was helping him. They posted a guard on his room( I originally thought because he committed a crime, but it was to keep people from getting into his room and killing him!)

Steve, it was probably for both reasons, he did commit a pretty serious crime and they didn't want him to walk away.

It's funny Jack I talked with the Sheriff at the time and they said it was for his own protection since this was his 7th DUI( I guess our three strikes law didn't apply) but I agree it was for both, but they were worried about retribution from the community. I think he broke a hip, so he wasn't considered a flight risk. But he was under police house arrest so both would be correct. It just makes me sad how things like this affect so many people.

Had a great weekend, car didnt miss a beat which was nice and I got something totally unexpected
