Don i've been using them cylinders for a while now and they work real good but i found the cheap Dorman ones are not great quality, the Raybestos brand are much better.

Yeah i didn't want to go OTT on the pedal

Steve, I have been running that same master cylinder in my 27 for over 20 years and when I redid the car last year I bought the same one and put it in again. I run Dot 5 in everything and I actually could have reused the original one but didn't want to push my luck. They work great and I am using half for my brakes and half for my clutch.

I'm glad to see you went the plain Jane route on your brake pedal !

Had a spare couple of hours tonight so thought i would sort my fuel block, I picked it up ages ago in the states and is an old Thickstun block, I only bought it as i thought it looked cool !!!

Anyway it was on the shelf so thought i would use it, first job was to drill out the main passage to 1/2" as thats the size of my main fuel line. Then i found a 1/2" stainless fitting with 1/2" NPT thread so drilled and tapped the entry port, the exit ports were a little more tricky as i wanted to use stainless fittings to match but couldn't find them in the right size.

Had to make some on the lathe in the end and weld in short lengths of tube, I didn't have a NPT die so I put a 1/2" UNF thread on them and seal them with a copper washer.

Added a Moon fuel pressure gauge and its ready to rock.

I maybe the only one but been thinking about finishing the ends of bolts where the nut sits in a different way, nothing too difficult to do but looking for something cool and different, I ground a lathe tool to the required shape so it could be done in one process to save time.

Heres what i came up with.

When used with a Castellated nut it takes on a nice different look.

Steve,if you wouldn't mind, could you explain where all the tooling and equipment started that you have. For me anyways,it is like reading and watching a episode of the TV program "The Shade Tree Mechanic" with all the stuff you have to work with.Love the way you apply that.Very talented.

Not quite sure what you mean Gary, most of my power equipment is old from the 60's when they made machines to last.

I guess I am curious if you where a master machinist at some point because you have such a eye for making the parts I admire so much. The shop you are working in was built up over the last number of yrs and you knew what machines to buy because you have been building cars for what number of yrs.The back story of how you built up the shop and equipment.
