Mine is not much to further distant and have so far not had a bit of trouble. I figure that the gas(petrol) is going through it so fast when I have my foot planted to the floor it can't vapor lock

a heat deflector IS on the 'to-do' list though.

    exhaust

was considering heat shield and heat wrapping the petrol and exhaust pipes still seems a bit close.how close are your exhaust to the petrol pipes.

Pictures are always better then jacking it up crawling under with a scale. It's the larger, the smaller is a brake line. The photo is before I added the 'H' pipe so the mufflers are about 6" +/- further back

    exhaust

thanx dave nice photos .like the way you have plenty of rubber mounts on the exhausts.what engine is in the car fuel lines are on the other side.i am more concerned with clearance around the engine / headers where the exhaust is hottest thanx again

Chris - it's a small block Ford and am using a mechanical pump. I originally plumbed it for an electric pump but changed my mind which is why I did the cross over

Now - clearance in the front:

I do not have any problems there

    exhaust

dave your lines look at least as close as mine.i would imagine those metal pipes would absorb more heat than the braided hose as well.i feel a bit better now over n out
