TruckIt, with a Federal
Heres' one i have been messing with. A 1947 Federal that was heading for the crusher and i captured it and have whacked it up to hell and gone.
I have made a chromemoly tube chassis, a blown 354 hemi with 4 speed, winters quickchange rear.
I am working on finishing the sheetmetal, the cab is in real bad shape as the truck was a delivery truck and has had stuff smash into the back of the cab. Right now it is blown apart so i can roll the cab around the floor and work on it. This computer has only a couple pics, i'll post others later.
One pic is from a while ago, the door compared to the original cab. That shows how much i took off the top. The other pic is a couple days ago.Last edited by ojh; 01-14-2011 at 09:40 AM. Reason: Pic resize

Sounds like a cool project, even though you will have to cut a hole in the roof for your head-lol.How many lumps ya want with that?

Yes, it looks as if there will be a problem but there isn't, it is actually roomy inside. That roof is about 7" above the top of the door and to correct the vision thing i raised the windshiel up into the roof. If you look at the windshield wiper holes in the huge picture and the same holes are part of the cutout for the windshield.
There is enough headroom that i have a hoop as part of the tube chassis - no halo or 'A' pillar bars. The top of the roof will work out to 49" above the ground and includes 5" ground clearance.
Thank you Roger. .
