I decided to stiffen up the front panel and also eliminate some of the access metal to get some relief in the panel.
I made up a trim ring for the grill cutout.
I got it tacked in place........
And some welding, dinging and smoothing.... not perfect but getting there.
Thanks for looking,

This is a great build to watch! I love the mods, and your metal working skills are great. Nice transformation on the front!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Thanks Guys.
May be a while before I get more done.
I'm going to a metal shaping gathering next week in New York State.
I've got to get something prepared to take with me to work on during the meet.Pugsy

I went down to Dutch Comstock's metal shaping meet and took my decklid with me.
I had to disassemble it to take out some dents.
I found a full skim coat of bondo under the primer and some rot along the bottom edge.
I made up a patch panel and got it tacked in place.
There were some pin holes in the trunk handle area and I needed to fill all the holes anyways so I wheeled up a large patch for that area and got it tacked in.....
