That's good compression for the old girl and although it won't be fast,it will make an awesome cruiser. As I said, while the front springs are out they may just loose a bit of weight. Man, I am looking forward to seeing this thing out on the road and yes all my friends tell me that I have bad tastes in not only woman but the cars that stir my crank. LOL

I guess im in a holding pattern on this one; I got the motor to start but its pretty much junk; bad bottom end knock and now my compression is gone on the back two. I dont want to put a small block Chevy in it. I'll have to see what I can come up with. Drat.

Ah heck, just part with the big bucks and put a 6.1 hemi with a supercharger in it, Arrington has a new package out that's "only" about $10K--plus a good base engine to start with..... Make that old Many Door a big time sleeper!!!!!!! After all, it's only money and yer wife can only kill you once!!!!!!!!!

Sounds great, Dave! I'll put my lawn chair by the mailbox and wait for the check!

I probably will pull the pan and see what's up, Charlie. It sounded pretty bad, though.

Whiplash, I tried a trick on one of these cars before that worked out good for lowering. I cut the spring perch off the top of the lower control arm and welded it on the bottom. It gave me a nice two inch drop with the stock springs and seemed to work pretty well. My friends said the same about my taste in cars. Why would you want to cruise around in an ugly ass old green four door? Well, I got a thing about having the only one like it around, and I haven't seen too many of these on the street around here. Besides, this thing was around before Elvis got famous so I think it's worth saving; at least for a low buck cruiser.

Thanks for the CLR link, Joe. I'm going to give it a shot when the time comes.

Nothing wrong w/4doors, I've been driving them for 40yrs & love them.
You know what the best thing about 4 doors are????
All passengers can open their own damn door.
And it's easier getting the cooler out of the back seat.
I have always lived w/the understanding that the uglier the vehicle is the cooler it is.
    Maybe that's why I loved my 48 Packard & 47 Ford Flatbed, both where butt f'n ugly..joe

Hot Rodders are some of the best folk around; I had a guy from another site contact me to tell me he had a flathead he didnt need that would fit this. No charge: come and pick it up. Going to get it tomorrow.
