I forgot to mention I worked 40hrs at work, took Friday off, then worked 12 playing truck driver on Sunday. Sometime I'll work on getting more than 5hrs of sleep during the week. I'm hoping all this extra work will leave me some money to spend on the 40 soon.Ryan

Thanks.. I hope it comes close enough to give us a "bunch" of rain!
Our ponds and lakes need it bad.

I haven't had time to work on the truck. I've been putting together a 12v Cummins. My sons were out with me today and itching to help out. I let them have their new flash lights and they were under the truck checking it over. Then they decided they wanted to clean it off. I gave them the paper towels and said have at it!Ryan

I haven't had anymore time to work on my truck. I've been rebuilding a 12v Cummins and have to meet the new owner of it in northern Iowa on Sunday to deliver it. I have a 24v cummins block and head at the machine shop that are almost done. I've almost got all the hardware etc cleaned for it. Then, my powerstroke project..... They line bored it and now I have to take the bearings down so we can install the crank and check the clearances. I hope it's done. I'm really tired of messing with this thing! I also have a 03 Dodge that I yanked the engine out of before I went on vacation in August. The owner took that engine up to a machine shop in northern Iowa to have rebuilt. He dropped it off the other day and of course wants it put back in yesterday. I'm recruiting my brother to do that. I've just too much to do. I'm not going farming this Saturday. I'm on daddy day care duty/finishing up the first engine. Pics of engine #1.Last edited by 40FordDeluxe; 10-13-2016 at 12:32 PM.

Hey, they look like normal engines except they run on funny smelly liquid. You certainly are busy but then you probably would hate been idol for too long. Love the picture of your young mechanics learning all about ground clearance and how important the look of the underside is as the top side.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Yeah, the liquid it runs on is smelly for sure. I sure do keep busy. It is craziness. The boys are always wanting wrenches to take things apart. So my goal is to put them some harbor freight tool boxes together for Christmas. Then I'm going to get an old lawn mower and strip it down to the basics. Make a little thing they can take apart and lose their stuff and have some fun.Ryan

Been a busy month. I did successfully meet a dead line! I got the 12v finished up and fired it off Saturday late afternoon. Gave it another coat of paint, and Sunday made a wood stand to deliver it on. Sunday my 4yr old son and I delivered it to the owner. I picked up a 70 K20 project, and some benjamins. Yesterday I got momma a mini van because her Excursion is supposed to be going to paint jail to get the RH rear quarter fixed. He says it will be fast, but I have been through this trade deal with him before. We shall see. (I did the work to his truck last november) But I have my self covered any way. At work we have an out of service de-icer that has turned into an entire chit show. Emails are flying and our bacon is about fried. Plus another guy at another shop has been off for medical so I've been helping down there. It's crazy. My brother came over this morning and we got trucks moved around so he can start on the install on the 03 dodge. Doing this work out of my garage is getting tight. I need to get the cash together to get the electrical fixed out at my shop. That's another task before winter... I have to go pick up the 24v this week and get it built and then put in. The 7.3 engine does need line bored so it is supposed to get done this week. It was 84* here yesterday so I'm hoping it stays warm until December so I can get enough stuff done to be content.......
I did finally get the new external voltage regulator installed on the 72, charged the batteries and moved it out of the front yard by the street. I messed up the VR and smoked it when I did the heater core install. It was draining the batteries. Whoops.
I have been contemplating getting a forced air type heater for the garage. I'd like to do it before it is too late and I'm back to using old stinky. My torpedo type heater.Last edited by 40FordDeluxe; 10-18-2016 at 07:50 PM.

I told my friend the same thing. I had to put the engine clear up front to put some tongue weight on it to keep the trailer from bouncing on the ball. It's really annoying when empty. I might take a picture of the K20 I brought back. She's not a real eye catcher though.....Ryan

Don't you mean I hafta get a picture up of that K20??
You've been here long enough to know better!
I hate it when towing an empty trailer and the suspension just makes it bounce like a beach ball. My little trailer (2 snow machines) will jump side to side enough that you can watch it in the side mirrors jumping out 8 to 12 inches! I hate it on bumpy roads.
Getting closer on this project. What a lot of work!
