Still working on it. Working on wiring and doing paint work. Here's the new valve cover for it.
Right now I'm doing the air inlet pipe.Ryan

Ryan,
That valve cover looks great! The logo & ribs don't appear to be raised much. How did you do the polished surfaces without messing up the adjacent paint?Roger

Thanks guys.
It isn't raised much at all. I put 2-3 layers of 3m masking tape on the top of the areas surrounding the raised stuff and used a polisher similar to a DA sander and started out with 600, then 1000, then 1500 grit. You have to keep it really flat or you will get the non raised area. I did hit a couple spots but I was able to use some polish and rub them out. Definitely nerve wracking.Ryan

I put it on today. Too bad it wasn't just a unbolt and bolt it on deal. Oh no, these autoworld mounts have the engine pretty far back and pretty high making it real hard, oh wait, impossible to remove the valve cover. You have to remove the trans mount and lower the trans to get enough room to get the valve cover to clear everything to come out.
Now this thing has a chevy part on it too! I used a 67-72 tail gate hinge/strap to make my air intake support bracket out of. I also decided to body work this pipe as it had lines on it from being bent and I knew it would drive me nuts.

Details, details, details!!!! Once you start attacking the little pieces with some detailing you're never done!!!! What a great habit to get into, eats up more time and the majority of people never notice the extra work but everyone notices when it's not done!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yep, it's exactly like you said, the average guy would just bolt on the pipe, but looking at it you know that those little wrinkles will be what you see every time you open the hood. Lookin' good, Ryan, and who can argue with the Cummins??Roger

Yeah, I just couldn't spray bomb this stuff and let it go. It sure looks super nice with real paint.
Been getting some stuff done on this thing. Repainted some piping and the front bumper.
I got the AC lines installed, replaced the drier and the expansion valve, got the last bolt in the turbo compressor housing, wired the external voltage regulator, wired the lift pump, had my brother prime the lift pump and fix a leak on the return side, and I set the intercooler back in there so I could see if my hot pipe would clear the AC lines. I also got the throttle linkage made. Built a bracket for the throttle pressure valve for the trans as well. Filled with fluids, fought and fought it but finally got it to run! Then I had some tach issues and figured that out. Waiting for a new tone wheel for that. I'm planning on a test drive this weekend................
